ABOUT A NEW LEAF

A New Leaf has been a “what if” for quite some time. It began as a hobby and an enduring love of plants that evolved into “what if” I opened a plant shop? “What if” I got to go to work every day doing something I love? A New Leaf is a venture, and a leap of faith, that I am excited to take.

My goal is to share my love of plants by offering beautiful, unique varieties, along with accessories and home décor, to the Salem community as well as surrounding areas.

I have always loved plants, flowers and gardening, a passion handed down to me by my grandmother. During the early days of COVID my love of plants was a perfect hobby. And then, the unthinkable happened, I lost my dear mother in April of 2020. My hobby quickly became a much needed distraction from the craziness in my world as well as the outside world. During this time I began to appreciate plants for more than their beauty and ability to photosynthesize! I found that there is solace in witnessing growth. There is something hopeful and encouraging in tending to a small starter plant and watching it survive, grow and thrive. Plants remain unaffected by world events, politics and opinions. They simply continue to grow.

It is my hope that people will visit my shop and leave with not only a new plant but with a new perspective and appreciation for it as well.

A New Leaf, LLC will offer a wide variety of house plants including pothos, zz plants, sanseveria, pilea, and calatheas as well as tropical favorites including monstera and hibiscus. Unique plants will be offered as well – check out a stunning whale fin, twisted lipstick plant or a pink princess. We will also offer a selection of accessories, including pots and gloves as well as home décor, jewelry and books.

I will strive for my shop to be a welcoming, peaceful and beautiful space where people can take their time and choose the plant(s) that “speak” to them. Whether it is a lovely addition to their home or a gift for someone else, helping people choose the perfect plant would be a privilege.
